Woolly spiders

Spiders’ legs are hairy like my Auntie Sally’s nose,

and in the winter Spiders all wear socks upon their toes.

They all wear tiny fluffy hats with pom-poms on their heads,

especially when there’s snow outside and when they’re on their webs

But when it gets to summer, and the sun turns baking hot,

the spiders get all grumbly and they run around a lot.

They shake their hairy legs at ants, and really loose their cool,

until they take their woollies off and wear no clothes at all.

Then they hang out in their spider webs and sip sweet lemonade,

and when the sun goes down at night, they often play charades.

But when the summer fades away their spider legs get cold,

And they don their hats and woolly socks in colours bright and bold.
